1st Christmas!

Everyone, I'm sure has a picture perfect idea of what their child's 1st Christmas would be like. This wasn't it.

It wasn't a BAD Christmas by any means- but it was just the 3 of us. A little lonely. We couldn't have an actual fire- spare the air day (and apparently they really have people out patrolling for this and caught about 50 people cheating!!). But we had the "yule-log" channel on TV that played the Christmas radio station. Commercial free my bootie! They kept interrupting MID SONG! "Brought to you by..." Haha, I suppose someone's got to pay for that kind of stuff. Rowan was over opening presents after a while, so we ended up opening quite a few for him that evening.

BUT, we still had a wonderful time. I was scheduled to work until 10 the night before, un-Christmas-ing everything. But we finished before 8 and got to go home. Nate and I had a Heroes marathon. We got some great video clips for the grandparents. We went for a walk, took cookies to the neighbors, I made prime rib with brussel sprouts, carrots, and asparagus. And we watched more Heroes of course.

The next day is where the fun begins. We woke up expecting to have another mellow day as a family. Rowan had a CRAZY rash all over his body. We started panicking, called the nurses line for the Dr. office, put him in the bath in case he had allergens on his skin, and got him to the Dr. as soon as they opened. Luckily is was only Roseola and the contagious part was over. Yay! So back home we go. Later on that afternoon Nate went to deposit his paycheck at the ATM and realizes all our money was gone. Someone tried to buy airline tickets from Europe to NY w/ our check card! Luckily our landlords were very understanding about it, and its already straightened out!

I just made lentils for Rowan and sort of forgot about them... some of them got a little toasted. Oops! We will see if he likes them.
