Birthday Boy!

My sweet little boy-
Today was your 1st birthday! You and I had a wonderful day together. We went and got you a balloon this morning and went to visit your uncle at work. Then after lunch we went to get cupcakes and had your picture taken. When we got home daddy was picking up Grandma Phillips from the airport!

While we were getting Grandma's bed put together you were crawling all over the house just laughing and enjoying life. I've never seen you so happy just hanging out. You LOVED your balloon- we had to take it everywhere today. You devoured the cupcake- we didn't even get a picture with you sitting next to it nicely. You knew it was going to be delicious and dove in.

You are getting SOO close to walking. You have complete control when you squat from a stand to a sit without holding on. I know you can do it, but you haven't figured it out yet. You have let go for a second here and there and look completely shocked.
You can now say "Baf" (bath), "done" (but you would rather throw your food to tell us you are done.), You said "dress" yesterday while helping Lise find a wedding dress.
You know where your head, ear, and foot are.
You have learned how to get off the couch, and climb.

We went to the Children's museum last week and you had a great time playing with the ball funnel, and climbing up to the tree in the story room. We also headed out to the beach again last week. My allergies were killing me and I decided at the last min. I needed some fresh air. It was cool and windy, but there was a tractor doing some work near by, and you didn't even notice that we didn't get in the water. We just had snacks, snuggled and explored. It was a perfect day.

While I have been a little sad you're growing up so quickly and emotional with memories of your arrival, I am so thankful to have had such a great year with you and cannot imagine our lives without you. I know this next year is full of excitement, craziness, more love than I can imagine, and more wonderful adventures!
