Mornings

THIS is the life...

Warm coffee... yeah, its been re-warmed and is SO not fresh, but its steamy. Smiles from my boy. Chattin' about what we're going to do for the day to get ready for his big party... labeling & stamping the last of his invites while he finishes his toast. "Duh!" (Done!)
After a long night, staying up way too late, having to wake at 3am because someone only wanted to eat ham for dinner and was hungry again... THIS make my sleepy eyes and ache-y face feel 100 %. And sometimes those middle of the night snuggles and chats about the numbers on the microwave, and the "Nuh-nuh's" (milk/bottle, I have NO idea where this one came from) are really just what we need.

And this face...

If this face doesn't make you want to have babies... well then I guess there is no hope for you! People seemed to be surprised I let him help color eggs this week! They have said I'm brave- but we all need to let loose a bit more I think. Yeah, it might be messy- but the memories, photos, and the FUN your kids will have is SO worth it.

This weekend we are off to celebrate 2 friends getting married yesterday. And then Easter! And with that I'd like to leave y'all with a quote from Kelle Hampton's Blog- (If you don't read "Enjoying the Small Things, you NEED to. Her outlook on life is AMAZING and has inspired me, and about a million other people) her dad wrote this in response to her post last night:

"It is that perception of children I want to keep in my eyes...I look at a traveling parking lot carnival and wonder if it is safe, if it is clean...they look and think "what fun!" I look at a pool of rainwater left on my lawn after a sudden storm and worry about drainage and they think, "Let's splash--and they do!" I look at a warm brownie with dripping frosting and see calories and fat counts...they beg to consume it and think nothing of frosting on their face. Yes...Lainey leads us into things we worried about and teaches us to skip with soul's abandon. And that puts fireworks in our sky! Maybe that's the message of my Good Friday...seeing tomorrow's worries differently because of what we see today"
