Summer

You woke up tonight when I got home... it was secretly wonderful to snuggle you, sleepy & lovey while you drank your milk. You were SO ready to crawl right back into bed... but are still chatting away, probably to Scout, about how you got to cuddle mommy. You cuddles have become so much more... deliberate the last week. You really snuggle into the crook of our necks and wrap your arms around us. And when you come over to just sit in our laps, or lean against our legs, its pure heaven. I try to soak up every second of it, knowing that in a few years you will be so embarrassed about things like that.


This summer is proving to be wonderful. I never knew I could enjoy it so much! We got a pool- that you kinda still hate being in. We've played in the hose plenty of times, we've been hiking, to birthday parties where you devoured watermelon and dribbled pink juice down your front, played at parks, and taken the dogs for SO many walks. You've been insisting on "holding" the leash with me.

You started walking on the 12th- just went for it. And now you are walking EVERYWHERE. Its wonderful- the playground is more fun, walks around the neighborhood are more fun, trips to the store are more fun. People said my life would "change" and that I didn't REALLY want you to walk- they are CRAZY! You get to explore on a whole new level! I love it! And my back loves it a bit more too!

Well, I think you are finally asleep... so I should get tucked in too.  Its almost Father's Day. Grand-dad and Grandma are coming again, and you and I have been working on some pretty cool projects for dad. This weekend is going to be spectacular!
